日本語 Japanese at Lehman, CUNY
日本語クラスのホームページへようこそ!

Welcome to the Japanese Language Program Homepage! Whether you are interested in manga and anime, studying economics, love eating sushi, or you want to be a creator of video games, you will enjoy studying Japanese at Lehman College. Learning a language that is so different from English might seem intimidating, but we make it fun and interesting. In class you will learn important cultural lessons as well as grammar and vocabulary to communicate with Japanese speakers. You will gain access and insight to Japanese culture that has become part of international culture and your everyday life. Japan might be a small country, but it's where all things "cool" and "cute" come from.

The Department of Languages and Literatures at Lehman College offers all levels of Japanese language courses. Students who choose to fulfill the foreign language requirement with Japanese are required to take JAL 111 and JAL 112. If you have prior knowledge of Japanese, please contact the instructor for a placement test. You can minor in Japanese by completing three years of Japanese, with at least six credits in 300-level language courses.
